Abyss Global MD, Richard Nelson, will be in Singapore during WAF2024, supporting our client Scott Brownrigg, who have two projects shortlisted in this year's WAF Awards.
Now in its 16th year, the World Architecture Festival (WAF) is the world’s largest festival and live awards competition dedicated to celebrating and sharing architectural excellence from across the globe.
Scott Brownrigg’s Sea Breeze project in Baku, Azerbaijan, below, has been shortlisted in the World Architectural Festival Awards (WAF) in the Future Project: Masterplanning category.
Positioning Azerbaijan as a sustainable, world class tourist destination for the future, the Sea Breeze masterplan is an 18km area of land alongside the picturesque coast of the Caspian Sea. The proposals build upon the established success of the existing Sea Breeze development, creating a highly diverse, inclusive, and healthy environment with the ability to flex and grow to exceed expectations far into the future. The other project they have shortlisted is The Island Private School of Limassol, Cyprus, shown below, which has been shortlisted in the Future Project: Education category.
This 60,000 sq m education hub is central to a new 30 hectare neighbourhood that cascades down the slopes of Palodia in Limassol, Cyprus. The new Education Hub will provide a nature-led learning environment for over 2000 pre-primary, primary and secondary school students, boarding accommodation, and associated sports and cultural facilities to serve both the school and wider community.
