The Institute of Directors Property and Built Environment Group, Chaired by Abyss Global MD, Richard Nelson, is hosting its next quarterly economic update, featuring diverse speakers from corporate banking, real estate and economic institutions looking at the 2024 UK real estate, construction and infrastructure markets, the availability of liquidity and what influence economic, political, business trends and other factors will have going forward.
This quarter the group will be looking at some of the economic, environmental and delivery challenges facing UK infrastructure, and discussing some of the emerging opportunities for the sector.

Laurence Johnson from Hoare Lea will be discussing the challenges of energy infrastructure and how it will affect existing and future developments in regards to their carbon journey.
Maureen Paul from Grant Thornton, an Economics Director in GT’s Economic Consulting team, with responsibility for GT’s energy economics team. She advises clients, including regulators, the Government, and corporates, helping them to make evidence-based decisions that are aligned with regulatory requirements. Maureen has held senior roles at Ofgem, including Chief Economist.
Prof. Adam Boddison OBE, an inclusive leader, who has spent his career blending education and enterprise to make a difference to people’s lives. Adam joined the Association for Project Management (APM) as CEO in 2021, having previously held roles in various educational organisations and charities, including six years as CEO of the National Association for Special Educational Needs.
