Circular Build, London – The Numbers Behind the Reuse Decision

  • Convene 155 Bishopsgate London, England, EC2M 3TQ United Kingdom (map)

Reuse rarely loses on environmental grounds. It loses on financial ones. This workshop takes two real retention decisions and works through the numbers — where the financial argument held, where it nearly didn't, and what would need to change to make reuse the default.

Richard Nelson, Abyss Founder & MD and Co-Founder of Don’t Waste Buildings, will be attending this workshop at Circular Build, where fellow Don’t Waste Buildings colleagues Leanne Tritton, Co-Founder, and Matt Bullivant, Financial & Tax Incentives Lead, will chair a session drilling into the finances of reuse projects.

They will be joined by developers Samuel Lawson Johnston of Kinrise and Steve Sanham of Common, who will share their case studies of Canons Wharf in Bristol and Zodiac Court in Croydon, respectively.

This will be followed by an open workshop discussion on how to overcome specific financial barriers to retrofit with the goal of producing an action plan for speaking to government and the industry.
