Richard Nelson, Founder & MD of Abyss Global Ltd., was pleased to have contributed to Connected Capital: London and the World’s Built Environment, new research from NLA highlighting the scale and global reach of the UK’s built environment sector.
The research shows that built environment industries generate £168bn in exports each year, around 20% of all UK exports, while also contributing £568bn to Great Britain's economy (one-quarter of total GVA) and supporting 3.8 million jobs (that's 1 in 8 jobs).
In our global work helping built environment companies expand internationally, we are proud to represent talented British firms – including architects Scott Brownrigg, whose Sea Breeze project in Azerbaijan is featured in the report, and WT Partnership – whose skills and expertise are so highly valued around the world. As Richard says in the publication, “brand Britain sells well internationally.”
The report makes the case for recognising the built environment as a strategic national growth sector, with London acting as a global hub connecting capital, talent and expertise to projects around the world.
