More than 20 people came together with Don’t Waste Buildings in Bristol on 13 June to explore some of the city's recent retrofit projects in a tour and roundtable discussion aimed at tackling the environmental and policy challenges facing building reuse in the UK. (Downloads available.)

Don’t Waste Buildings, co-founded by Abyss MD, Richard Nelson, has released their Retrofit Policy Roundtable Report, following their invitation-only event on 27th November 2024. DWB gathered about 50 people representing a cross-section of government and industry to discuss ideas and proposals to achieve the introduction of policy clarity, sensible regulation and financial incentives around retrofit for the real estate and construction industry. The rise in property and built environment director confidence that we saw in January was just a blip, as confidence receded again in February, according to the IoD Property and Built Environment Group, for which Abyss MD, Richard Nelson, serves on the board.
