UH Architecture Retrofit Lecture

Abyss Founder & Managing Director, Richard Nelson, had the pleasure of delivering a lecture about the Don’t Waste Buildings group, which he co-founded, to the University of Hertfordshire Architecture programme on October 28th.

Approximately 40 third-year students and faculty of the BArch programme, as well as a few MArch students and faculty, attended to learn about DWB’s approach to campaigning the UK government to implement a national ‘retrofit first’ policy.

It was encouraging to see the interest and passion from the students in renovation and retrofit, and Richard may have even influenced one or two to forge a future career as a ‘Retrofit Rockstar’!

Don’t Waste Buildings hopes to join up with the UH Architecture students and faculty again for future lectures, and perhaps even a research project – watch this space.
